VMware vSphere is the Universal Application Platform of choice for deployment of all kinds of applications – from end-user virtual desktops to very large databases, machine learning systems and in-memory data management systems. VSphere 6.7 became generally available in April 2018.
Overview: The vSphere Command-Line Interface (vSphere CLI) command set allows you to run common system administration commands against ESXi systems from any machine with network access to those systems. You can also run most vSphere CLI commands against a vCenter Server system and target any ESXi system that vCenter Server system manages. VSphere CLI also includes a set of host management commands: the ESXCLI command set, vicfg- commands, and some other commands.
